Premble

We, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC and to secure to all its citizens. JUSTICE, social, economic and political : LIBERTY of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship. Equality of status and of opportunity: and to promote among them all : FRATERNITY assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the Nation. IN OUR CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLE this twenty sixth day of November, 1949, DO HEREBY ADOPT, ENACT AND GIVE TO OURSELVES THIS CONSTITUTION.

A Fine of Rs. 25/- will be Charged if the Fees are paid after 15th of the said Month.

The school gates will be closed at the following timings for each section. No student will be permitted to enter the school premises after the cut off time.

Parents are requested not to approach the front desk regarding the same.

Sending tiffins or any other things midway through session is strictly not permitted student will not be allowed to leave early between the session under any circumstances.

Presence of parent on open house day is mandatory IN CASE OF ANY EMERGENCY, PARENTS MAY CONTACT THE SCHOOL OFFICE.

Parent Responsiblities

1. Ignorance of rules is not an excuse.
2. Ensure that the rules of discipline are strictly followed.
3. Discipline your child and instill good values in him/her.
4. Punctuality is essential at all time. Getting the student to school on time is an important responsibility of the parent. Hence, you need to instill the value of punctuality in the child from a very early age.
5. Attend all Open House sessions to address your concerns and take teacher's feedback.
6. Do not disturb the teacher during class hours. You are allowed to meet the teacher using the appointment slips provided in the handbook.
7. Avoid pilgrimage and social trips during school days as assessments are conducted periodically.
8. Do your best to attend functions held in school and never walk out half way especially after your child's performance is over.
9. Encourage your child to participate in new pursuits and activities.
10. Get to know your child's teacher and let your child's teacher know that you are ready to work together.

Code Of Conduct

1. Boys are expected to look neat and well groomed with hair cut short and evenly. Girls with long hair are expected to plait it with white ribbon, and hair band is a must for short hair. Nails should be trimmed short with no nail polish. Fancy haircut, jewellery or make-up are not allowed.
2. Cleanliness of person and uniform is expected of every child. Those who come to school dressed untidily will not be allowed to attend school, Every student must possess at least two sets of uniform of the right shade.
3. Every child must bring the school handbook to class daily. No student is allowed to tear any page from the handbook or use it as a rough book.
4. Every Student must wear his/her I-card at all times within the school premises. Student not wearing his/her I - card will be sent home.
5. Any damage or loss of the card should be reported to the school office immediately. Duplicate card will be issued from the school office at an additional cost.
6. Children should be particularly careful not to litter the school premises.
7. No Student is allowed to leave the classroom without the permission of the teacher or until the class is dispersed.
8. No Student will be exempted from physical training without a doctor's certificate. Those who are thus excused must go and watch the drill.
9. Report on conduct and application is issued after every test on the result sheet. These reports have to be signed by the parents and returned to the class teacher the next day.
10. A child suffering from any contagious or infectious disease will not be allowed to attend the school without a fitness certificate from a doctor. However, the permission to attend school rests with the Principal/Headmistress.
11. Any communication sent through the handbook must be taken note of and duly signed by the parent.
12. Any change in contact details must be immediately notified to the school authorites.
13. While communicating with the school authorities, parents are requested to mention in their letter the G.R. no., U.I.D no., grade and division of their child.
14. If a pupil has lost or misplaced the school handbook, he/she can buy another from the school.
15. Parents are not allowed to meet their child or teachers during school hours without the sanction of the authorities.
16. Parents are requested not to fetch their children from school before class is over except in case of emergencies when permission should be obtained in writing.
17. Parents are requested to make any complaint directly to the authorities and not to the class teacher.
18. The school cannot make itself responsible for books, money, clothes and other articles that are lost. It is not advisable for students to carry money or valuable articles to school.
19. The Cost of any damage done to the school property or to that of the other students will have to be borne by parents.
20. No books or articles other than school books may be brought into the school premises.
21. Carrying/use of mobile phones is prohibited in school.
22. Chewing gum is strictly prohibited in the school premises.
23. Class/division is allotted to students as per the convenience of the school. Parents or students cannot demand shift/division of their choice.
24. Parents are given to understand that they cannot dictate to the Management and the Management, thus reserves the right to have a say in what condition they will admit or retain pupils in the school provided such conditions are in conformity with the grant-in-aid code and the instructions issued by the Council or Director or the Education Inspectors.
25. The engagement of private tutors may prove detrimental to real progress. Parents must therefore remember that the school discourages private tuitions.
26. Teachers of Mount Mary High School are banned from tutoring any student of the Mount Mary High School Engaging a tuition teacher who is an employee of the Mount Mary High School will be viewed as a breach of disciplinary rules of the school and appropriate disciplinary action will be initiated against the teacher and the student.
27. Gifts to teachers and demonstrations in their honour are not allowed.
28. No collection of money for any purpose whatsoever will be initiated without the prior permission of the Principal.

School Discipline

1. MMHS is an English medium school. All students are expected to speak in English.
2. Attendance on re-opening day of school is compulsory. Absence without prior permission is considered a serious offence.
3. Every student must be in school 5 minutes before the first bell. If they are late thrice, they are liable to be sent home at the parent's risk. No child is permitted to leave the school premises during recess or otherwise only with the permission of the Principal.
4. Students must bring their calendar everyday to school. If the child fails to produce the same a new calendar will be issued from the office, charges of which the parents will have to pay the next day.
5. Students are expected and required to keep the school clean and respect school property. The cost of any intentional damage caused to the school property will be paid by the parents.
6. The school does not accept the responsibility for the loss of a student's books, stationery, pens, money, etc. Each student is responsible for his/her own belongings.
7. The school uniform and identity card must be worn everyday. A student without a proper uniform will be sent home.
8. Students must wear a neat, clean and an ironed uniform. Hair must be properly combed and shoes polished.
9. Students are not allowed to wear jewellery, costly watches or bring valuable items to school.
10. 1. An absentee must enter the reason for the absence in the Absence Record in the school calendar and get it signed by the class teacher.
    2. Unexplained absence over a period of a week renders a pupil to have his/her name struck of the roll. If he/she is re-admitted, the admission fee must be paid again.
11. Pupils are answerable to the school authorities for their conduct both in school and outside. Pupils shall always greet teachers, elders and friends in a pleasant manner. They should be polite in speaking and avoid the use of slang and common expressions. They ought to conduct themselves in manner worthy of the dignity of a human being. Misbehavior, guilty of misconduct and/or has an unwholesome influence on fellow students is liable to be expelled from school.
12. Attendance at official school functions like Sports day, Annual day, Independence day and Republic day is compulsory. Absentees may be penalised.
13. No books (other than text or library books) comics, magazines may be brought to the school without the Principal's approval.
14. During the absence of the teacher, the Monitor of the class will be responsible for the order and discipline in the class.
15. Running, shouting, playing inside the school building is not allowed.
16. When moving to the ground pupils must walk in silence and in a single line. The last pupil to leave the class must switch off all lights and fans.
17. Parents and teachers should approach principal office for any complaint along with the calendar.
