Examninations & Promotions

1. Emphasis is now laid on the Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation from Std I to the VIII. In each term 1 formative evaluation and alongwith 1 summative evaluation (Semester Exam) will be conducted. ( Therefore their performance in Orals, Class Tests, Practical , Projects, Home work, Arts, P.T., Work Experience will carry marks.)
2. For passing in each subject a student has to secure grade C2. A student getting D , El and E2 grades has to appear for a re-exam after each Semester Result.
Absence from examination, Oral/Written involves loss of marks for the subjects. Re-examination will not be considered except for medical reason.
For the purpose of promotion , the grade C2 ( minimum grade has to be secured in each Semester Examination.
Student securing C2 grade and above in each individual subject shall be eligible for promotion to the next standard.
All fees must be cleared up to the month in such the exam / unit test is conducted.
No text books, note books or other papers are to be brought in to the examination hall. Students must bring their own instrument box, pens, pencils etc.
Students found cheating in a subject at an examination or test besides being marked zero in that subject will not be allowed to appear for the remaining subjects. Repetition of unfair means makes a student liable for dismissal.
In case if a student's fees is not paid before the commencement of any exam School may debar a student from the examination.
A student who has twice consecutively repeated the class / or who has failed and is over age by two years will have to leave the school.
The decision of the Principal is final regarding promotion or detention, it will not be considered

Uniform

The student must have two regular and two PT. Uniforms. Order for the school uniforms must be given at the counter.
All students are required to wear white socks and black shoes with regular uniform. White socks and White shoes with PT. Uniform.
P.T. Uniform should be worn for P.T. Classes.
Only black sandals are permitted during monsoon season.
Watches can be worn from Std. VIII onwards with black or metal straps. No flashing dials/straps will be allowed.
Girls: Hair, if long must be plaited and tied up with White ribbons. Boys: Please note that a student having long hair can be given a hair cut in school if after three warnings (through calender) the student comes in long hair.
Girls: No nail polish or mehandi is permitted. Long or expensive ear rings, fancy bangles chains etc, must not be worn to school.
Failing to comply with the rules will result in the student being sent home at your own risk.

Purchase of Uniform (Regular/ P.T.) is compulsory for the following students
JR. KG	(2) Regular Set
SR. KG	(1) Regular (NewAdm.)
STD I -X	(2) Regular Set and (1) P. T. Uniform
All those students who take new admission must buy (2) sets of Regular Uniform & (1) set of P.T.

EXTRA CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITY

Extra Co-curricular Activities are the best means of channelising the child's instincts into healthy and fruitful channels. Various instincts like curiosity, constructiveness, self assertion and self - abnegation find healthy outlet for expression and are sublimated through these activities.

The students to hone their talents are encouraged to take part in School's extra co-curricularship activities like Music and Dance as well as in the following exams/competitions

NIE (News in Education) has been incorporated in the school's co-curricular activities, which has installed in the children the habit of reading which has resulted in the student's taking interest in current affairs, G. K. Entertainment and sports.

School Council

To inculcate a spirit of competition and fair play, our school has four Houses. All the students from class I right up to class X are in one of the four houses and they remain in the same house right through their school career.

Students become fiercely loyal to their house, and give full support to their representatives at the various Inter-House Competitions which are held throughout the year. The School Council consists of:

ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE

For Primary & Secondary Section

Every week, each class is given the charge of conducting the assembly House-wise.

Assembly is conducted on the allotted THEME
On Friday during assembly GK Questions are asked House wise. Marks are allotted to the correct answers.
Every day marks are given to the House for - Innovative, Creative, Informative assembly
At the end of the year 'Shield' is given to the 'Best House' on Annual Day
The House -in-charges (Teacher - Student) are overall in charges of the House.

Leave of Absence

No student who has been absent will be permitted to attend school without a leave-note from the parent/guardian certifying his / her absence and reason there of. The date of absence must like wise be stated in the handbook with a signature from the parent/guardian. Any request for leaves / half day etc. must be through the handbook only. Application on pieces of paper will not be accepted.
The name of the student shall be struck off the rolls if he/she, without serious reason, is absent for more than a week. As a rule, such students are not re-admitted. If re-admitted, they will have to pay the entrance fee again.
No leave for attending marriage will be granted except for close relatives like brothers or sisters.
A student who remains absent prior to exams without any valid reason will not be allowed to sit for the examinations.
Students who do not report on the opening day after summer vacation will have to pay the entrance fee again, unless they have a valid reason for the delay. Such students will not be allowed to attend school without written approval from the Principal/Headmistress.
A student who remains absent for more than three days due to ill health will have to furnish a medical certificate condirming the same.
Long leave for religious ceremonies or any other social functions will not be granted under any circumstances.
Any unauthorised leave will lead to strict disciplinary action.

CLASS MONITOR ELECTION

Students participated for the class monitor elections.

Beautiful posters were presented by the candidates to appeal for votes from their classmates.

Students casted their vote for the new class monitor for the academic year 2020-21 to the deserving candidates with strong and positive leadership qualities.

Candidates with the maximum votes won and got the responsibility of leading as an active team member of the respective class.

This process brings social awareness and responsibility among the students and also allows them to understand the Power of Vote for their future life.

Activity Day 1 English Elocution Competition 22 June 2020

Students spoke on the topics :

Importance of Education.

Selling Tobacco should be banned.

And

Pollution due to urbanization.

Winners were rewarded with certificates of excellence on the basis of their confidence, content, fluency and originality.

Such activities boost up the hidden talents and removes out the fear of public speaking leading to students becoming confident speakers in the future.

National Tree Plantation Day 1 July 2020

With a promise to take care of the mother nature, students participated in plantation activities at their home gardens. Students were shown presentations displaying the importance of trees in our lives and how we humans cannot survive without them. Students were made to understand and realise about their duties towards mother nature and the need of making Earth a safe place to live for the future generations.

Students shared beautiful photos displaying their green family at home - The plants, flowers and trees.

And yes, we promise!

WORLD ZOONOSES DAY_ 6 JULY 2020

World Zoonoses day is observed every year on 6 July to emphasize on the awareness of the problems, sources related to zoonoses diseases and to teach everyone the right actions and precautions to be taken. Team MMHS spent their time and efforts for the same where students highlighted all the informations on the topic ZOONOSES DISEASES through attractive posters, beautiful mini books, great write-ups and power point presentations!!!! These mediums helped them recognize and understand all about Zoonoses disease. Such activities boost maximum awareness and also develops the creative skills of students leading to becoming confident representatives in future!!!

INVESTITURE CEREMONY 2020-21

Leaders are not born but are made by their experiences in life!!!!

To inculcate such leadership qualities in the students we provide them with various important roles and responsibilities being a student, giving them lifelong experiences which would prepare them to be great leaders in their future life, We at MMHS conduct yearly Investiture ceremony to give students the feeling of responsibility and recognize their importance being a part of this strong institution. Students are appreciated for their achievement of various positions in the school for this academic year namely the school head boy, the school head girl, the sports and cultural secretaries, the prefects and the monitors. They pledge and take oath to work for the wellbeing of their school mates with the cooperation of teachers. The Principal of the school Mrs. Sushma Mestha guides, motivates and encourages students to realise their roles and make the most of this experience!

It's well said, Readers today are leaders tomorrow!!!

LITERATURE DAY AT MMHS 27 JULY 2020

STUDENTS at MMHS celebrated Literature day with full fun and dedication. Literature connects students with wider ideas and concepts. It gives them the opportunity to record their thoughts, ideas and creativity in a visual format through various means. It boosts up their imagination power. It gives them a better understanding. Students were shown power point presentations describing the importance of literature in our lives. Various forms of literature and how we can engage ourselves in this field. Students were encouraged to make amazing posters and collage books to display concepts in a creative way. Beautiful work done by the students were appreciated and it was made sure that the love for literature builds up among the students for a wonderful future ahead.

Let's salute the nation on this auspicious day.🇮🇳

Independence day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and respect at Mount Mary High School.

The flag hoisting ceremony was held in the school ground by The Trustee and The Principal of the school.

The Students of MMHS had prepared various activities for this special day with the guidance of their teachers on virtual classes. Activities like Art work on National symbols, Card making, poster making, speeches, singing, essay writing, instrumental performances were presented by the students on the themes INDIAN WOMEN, INDIAN SCIENTISTS AND INDIAN FREEDOM FIGHTERS.

Students displayed their talents in an attractive way.

These activities filled the entire MMHS Team with pure patriotism.

Students gave various speeches in 3 different languages English, Hindi and Marathi on the sacrifices made by our great freedom fighters and took a pledge that we would serve our motherland India with heart, body and soul to bring it glory with our dignified deeds.

The School Principal Mrs.Sushma Mestha addressed the gathering on virtual meet by her motivational lines for the students and teachers.

The programme concluded up with the vote of thanks.

Indeed it was a day of joy, love and respect for our country.

Fancy dress competition brings out the creativity of the parents and provides the little ones an opportunity to present themselves with wonderful attire. They also learn to overcome their shyness and develop a sense of confidence. It's a pleasure to watch toddlers dressed up as different wild animal characters building up their speech.
